And when the times of chastisement draw nigh and vengeance arises through the kings who share in their guilt and punish them,
2
They themselves also shall be divided as to the truth. Wherefore it hath been said: They shall turn aside from righteousness and approach iniquity,
3
And they shall defile with pollutions the house of their worship, and because they will go a-whoring after strange gods.
4
For they shall not follow the truth of God, but certain of them shall pollute the high altar by offering upon it things which are not lawful.
5
They are not truly priests at all, but slaves, born of slaves.
6
And those who are their teachers in those times shall become admirers of avaricious persons, accepting the things that they desire, and they shall sell justice by accepting bribes.
